Welcome to Three Emojis β a new daily word puzzle for language learners. Each day you get seven letters and a center letter that must always be included. The goal is to make as many words as you can in the language of your choice. We give you hints, definitions, and pronunciations so anyone β from beginner to fluent β can learn a language through playing.
Word Games for The Wordless
Millions play The New York Times' Spelling Bee every day. Itβs addictive and great for word recall β but itβs English-only, and tough if youβre still building up your vocabulary and fluency with the language. Three Emojis aims to bridge that gap. Traditional word games assume you already know thousands of words. We donβt. Instead, we give you clues that make completing a word puzzle possible for language learners at any level.
Learning Through Playing
We built Three Emojis for people who don't actually know their target language that well yet. The game is named after the three emojis that are generated as a hint for each word. Our thinking is that we can use other means of communication to help people learn a language without giving away the answers to the game. We built definition lookup for words you find directly into the game, so you can stop flipping between tabs and stay in the game. We also built in audio pronunciation for each word, so you can hear how each word is spoken alone and within the context of a sentence.

In order to support continued operations, we have a paid subscription that allows you to get unlimited audio hints. This is a great way to support the game and help us continue to improve it. In the future, this subscription will give you access to the full game archive as well as cross device sync.
Starting Languages
Weβre launching with German for English speakers and American English for English speakers, with more languages coming soon. If youβd like to see your language added, let us know, we need testers for the languages we don't speak! Our goal is to support every major language in the world for anyone who wants to learn it, no matter what language they speak.
